En Egypte, un vaste reseau de parcours processionnels reliant les temples entre eux se developpe dans la region thebaine au Nouvel Empire. La statue du dieu, enfermee dans une chapelle voilee, quitte le Saint des Saints du temple dans une grande barque factice en bois dore, portee sur les epaules des pretres. Si les veritables embarcations divines ont disparu depuis longtemps, les reliefs des temples nous renseignent sur leur decor de plus en plus elabore. La barque d’Amon est certainement la plus connue et la mieux documentee de ces embarcations. Toutefois, au Nouvel Empire, chaque divinite majeure possedait son vehicule processionnel, avec son iconographie propre. L’auteur se propose d’etudier les representations de la barque portative divine au Nouvel Empire, en les replacant dans leur contexte chronologique et religieux, depuis les premieres occurrences, au Moyen Empire, jusqu’aux ultimes prolongements a l’epoque greco-romaine, et en les confrontant aux donnees materielles et textuelles.
