English summary: A study of the Old Testament proverbs and selected teachings of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt shows that the king of wisdom is the mediator between God and human beings. It is in the person of the king that a human being seeking wisdom, the order that is to be found and protected, and the God who creates this order are united. Alexa F. Wilke examines the interdependences among royal traditions in ancient oriental wisdom and also makes thematic and structural comparisons. She does a critical evaluation of the theories on the cosmic order of wisdom and her study of the proverbs provides a contribution to the discussion on the composition of this collection of aphorisms. German description: Die Untersuchung der alttestamentlichen Proverbien und ausgewahlter Lehren des agyptischen Mittleren Reichs zeigt, dass der Konig in der weisheitlichen Weltordnung zwischen Gott und Menschen thront. Der Weisheit suchende Mensch, die zu findende und zu schutzende Ordnung und der sie stiftende Gott sind wesentlich auf das konigliche Amt bezogen. Dessen Mittlerfunktion bleibt im Laufe der Entwicklung der Weisheit erhalten. Dagegen unterziehen sich die das Amt bekleidenden Kronerben einer Metamorphose. Nicht nur zum Herrscher geborene oder proklamierte Kronerben, sondern auch Gotter und menschliche Liebhaber der Weisheit werden als Konige angesprochen. Letztere sind die Adressaten des Spruchebuches. Auf ihre Kronung und Beheimatung ist die Komposition der Proverbien ausgerichtet. Ausgehend von der Internationalitat altorientalischer Weisheit nimmt Alexa F. Wilke thematische und strukturelle Vergleiche vor. Sie reflektiert kritisch die von fuhrenden Agyptologen vorgetragenen Thesen uber die (Welt-)Ordnung der Weisheit, die lange den Massstab alttestamentlicher Uberlegungen bildeten, und leistet mit ihrer Untersuchung der Proverbien einen Beitrag zur gegenwartigen Diskussion uber die Komposition dieser Sentenzensammlung.
