Sie untersucht die Struktur des Psalters und weist anhand der hier gemachten Beobachtungen hinsichtlich der Schlussnotiz Ps 72,20, des signifikanten Gebrauchs der Gottesnamen, der Psalmenuberschriften und der Doppeluberlieferungen nach, dass der elohistische Psalter ursprunglich eine eigenstandige Komposition darstellte. Den Kern dieser Komposition bildet der zweite Davidpsalter (Ps 51-72). Die Analyse dieses Bereiches im Hinblick auf Entstehung und theologisches Profil bildet den Schwerpunkt des Buches. Die Autorin zeigt, dass eine erste Grundfassung des zweiten Davidpsalters zunachst mit der Komposition der Asafpsalmen (Ps 50.73-83) und in einem zweiten Redaktionsschritt mit der ersten Gruppe der Korachpsalmen (Ps 42-49) verbunden wurde. Die einzelnen Kompositionsbogen der Korach-, David- und Asafpsalmengruppe haben dabei ihre je eigene theologische Stimme. Mit der Gesamtkomposition des elohistischen Psalters erhalt der Leser bzw. der Betende ein Angebot, auf verschiedenen Wegen im Nachsinnen uber Gottes Gegenwart auf Zion (Korachpsalmen), in Identifikation mit David als dem exemplarisch Leidenden und Hoffenden (Davidpsalmen) sowie im Bedenken der Heils- und Unheilsgeschichte Israels (Asafpsalmen) eine Haltung einzuuben, die auch angesichts der Erfahrung der Ferne Gottes mit seinem rettenden Handeln sowohl am einzelnen wie auch an seinem Volk rechnet.
