Specialiste de l’ancienne litterature chretienne, de la critique textuelle des livres bibliques et de l’histoire de l’Eglise ancienne, directeur du Vetus Latina Institut (Beuron) depuis 1998, Mgr Roger Gryson est l’auteur d’une uvre scientifique considerable, qui a marque la recherche au 20e siecle. Au terme de son enseignement a l’Universite catholique de Louvain, il rassemble ici ses articles les plus significatifs et retrace le parcours intellectuel dont ils sont issus. Les principaux themes abordes sont les suivants: les Peres apostoliques, la vie et l’uvre d’Ambroise de Milan, les ministeres dans l’Eglise ancienne, l’arianisme latin, la critique textuelle de la Bible, les versions latines d’Isaie et le commentaire de Jerome sur Isaie, l’Apocalypse de Jean chez les peres latins. Les articles ici rassembles forment l’indispensable complement aux livres qui constituent l’essentiel de la publication scientifique de l’auteur.
