Mein Pluggendorf

Pluggendorf was once the area where many windmills ground Münster’s grain, but the windmills disappeared, and various businesses settled along the Aa River, transforming Pluggendorf into a residential area. The majority of its inhabitants were workers and office workers; the houses were simple and functional. It wasn’t until around the turn of the 20th century that Pluggendorf got a school, and a church shortly thereafter. It became one of the city’s most popular residential areas when the lake called Aasee was finally created.. Today, Pluggendorf is particularly popular with students, but the Aasee has become a meeting place for all generations. One would hardly suspect that the unassuming facades conceal so much history.
