Adrian Schenker has devoted more than 50 years to biblical research. Although his field of research is vast, he has distinguished himself especially in the field of textual criticism and the history of the Old Testament text. To stimulate the dynamics of dialogue, several contributions collected in this volume enter into discussion with the positions reflected in Adrian Schenker’s numerous publications. The authors discuss the principles governing textual criticism and their application in Hebrew Bible editions. They also address textual and literary criticism of certain passages of the Bible, as well as Masoretic and palaeographic questions. As with many of Adrian Schenker’s studies, these contributions offer new insights, new readings and innovative and challenging solutions for biblical research.
