Obgleich seit der Jahrtausendwende der emotional turn in den Wissenschaften weitlaufig Einzug halt, finden Emotionen in der neutestamentlichen Exegese noch immer kaum Beachtung. Diesem Desiderat begegnend entwickelt Tanja Dannenmann anhand emotionspsychologischer und literaturwissenschaftlicher Methoden ein Modell des emotionalen Rezeptionsvorgangs, auf dessen Basis die emotive Leserlenkung eines Erzahltextes mittels narratologischer Methoden sorgfaltig analysiert werden kann. Diese “emotive Heuristik” wird exemplarisch an drei Parabeln des Matthaus-Evangeliums durchgefuhrt (Mt 18,21-35; 24,45-51; 25,14-30). Dabei zeigt sich, dass die starken emotiven Elemente der matthaischen Parabeln die zeitliche Begrundungsstruktur ihrer ethischen Forderungen zu verstarken vermogen. Die Arbeit dient somit sowohl der Vervollstandigung einer holistischen Exegese als auch der Untersuchung narrativ vermittelter Ethik.
