English summary: From 2006 to 2009, the German Archeological Institute studied the area between the temple of Satis and the sanctuary of Heqaib on the Nile-island of Elephantine near the modern city of Aswan. One important result of this excavation site is that finds from the temple area itself came to this site in a major restructuring of the district. These include votive offerings dedicated to the goddess Satis, such as figurines and hedgehog ships, but also building materials and cultic items. “Elephantine XXIV” presents the work of scholars from different disciplines in one volume. The findings from the area behind the temple of Satis show the early development of the settlement from the 2nd to the 6th Dynasty (c. 2nd millennium BC) in different phases of city fortification. After the development of the local economy in the late Old Kingdom period, an upscale neighborhood was established. The development of local two-toned pottery in this settlement can be attested from the Naqada period to the Middle Kingdom and has been analyzed for the area under excavation in this study. The findings are presented in individual chapters, in addition, the individual groups of finds such as small finds, roll seals, and other written sources, animal remains, imported ceramics and flint are also evaluated. Each chapter also has a catalog section in which the numerous illustrated objects are described and presented in their archaeological context. German description: In den Jahren 2006 bis 2009 wurde auf der vor Assuan liegenden Nilinsel Elephantine der Bereich zwischen dem Tempel der Satet und dem Heiligtum des Heqaib vom Deutschen Archaologischen Institut untersucht. Eine Besonderheit dieses Grabungsareals ist, dass Funde aus dem direkten Tempelbereich bei einer groaeren Umstrukturierung des Stadtviertels durch Planierungsarbeiten an diese Stelle gelangten. Dazu gehoren Votive, die der Gottin Satet geweiht waren, wie Figurinen und Igelschiffe, aber auch Bauteile und Kultgerate. In Elephantine XXIV werden die Ergebnisse von Wissenschaftlern unterschiedlicher Fachrichtungen in einem Band vorgestellt. Die Befunde im ruckwartigen Bereich des Satettempels zeigen die fruhe Entwicklung der Siedlung von der 2. bis zur 6. Dynastie (2. Jahrtausend v.Chr.) in verschiedenen Phasen der Stadtbefestigung. Nach einer vorwiegend wirtschaftlichen Nutzung etablierte sich hier im spaten Alten Reich ein gehobenes Wohnviertel. Die lokale, diachrone Entwicklung der Agyptischen Keramik in dieser Siedlung wird von der Naqadazeit bis in das Mittlere Reich beschrieben und fur den hier gegrabenen Bereich tiefer analysiert. Die Befunde werden in einzelnen Kapiteln vorgestellt, zusatzlich werden die einzelnen Fundgruppen wie Kleinfunde, Siegelabrollungen und andere Schriftquellen, Tierreste, Importkeramik und Flint ausgewertet. Jedem Kapitel ist zudem ein Katalogteil angegliedert, in dem die zahlreichen illustrierten Objekte beschrieben und in ihrem archaologischen Kontext vorgestellt werden.
