A group of mostly young, international authors looks at Ancient Egyptian images in terms of their function as aesthetic artefacts and asks questions about culture-specific modes of perception and communication, as well as contexts and communicative conditions and strategies. The Munich Research Group of Young Egyptologists provides a forum for young researchers to exchange and present new research approaches and results in Egyptology. Die uberwiegend jungen internationalen Autoren widmen sich altagyptischen Bildern in ihrer Bedeutung als asthetische Artefakte und fragen nach kulturspezifischen Wahrnehmungs- und Kommunikationsmodi bzw. Kontexten, medialen Bedingungen und Vermittlungsstrategien. Der Munchner Arbeitskreis Junge Aegyptologie ist ein Forum fur Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und Nachwuchswissenschaftler, das dem Austausch und vor allem der Prasentation neuer Forschungsansatze und -ergebnisse in der Agyptologie dient. Die MAJA-Workshops finden regelmaaig in Form einer offenen Diskussionsrunde mit Vortragen zu einem speziellen Themenbereich statt.
