L’evangile de Matthieu reprend l’evangile de Marc tout en developpant plusieurs aspects de l’identite de Jesus et plusieurs caracteristiques de son ministere. Parmi les points d’attention, Matthieu insiste sur l’enseignement de Jesus aupres de ses disciples. Cet enseignement s’apparente, tout en s’en distinguant, a celui des ecoles juives du 1er siecle, notamment les pharisiens, les esseniens et les disciples de Jean-Baptiste. La redaction de l’evangile de Matthieu temoigne de l’evolution de la communaute chretienne, qui integre des caracteristiques et des membres de ces ecoles tout en revelant une communaute profondement originale.
