English summary: This book proposes a new approach to understanding the Qur’an through the use of the Biblical principles of analysis that are perfectly suited for Qur’anic exegesis. This system of analysis allows for both a nuanced and renewed interpretation. French description: Les lecteurs de plus en plus nombreux du Coran se heurtent rapidement a une difficulte majeure : l’absence apparent d’ordre du livre rend tres difficile d’en suivre le fil et provoque rapidement decouragement et lassitude. L’orientalisme moderne, centre jusqu’a une date recente sur la critique historique du texte, a renforce l’idee qu’il ne serait qu’une collection de fragments mis a la suite sans ordre ni logique. Le present ouvrage propose une approche toute nouvelle en y appliquant des principes d’analyse qui ont fait leur preuve dans le champ biblique et se revelent parfaitement adequats pour l’exegese coranique. Michel Cuypers en fait ici la demonstration sur une longue sourate, reputee particulie rement embrouillee : a l’analyse, elle apparaOEt toutefois solidement construite selon les principes de la rhetorique semitique qui regissent egalement les textes bibliques. L’analyse textuelle s’enrichit d’une attention aux nombreux rapports du texte coranique avec la Bible et la litterature para-biblique : ecrits rabbiniques, ecrits intertestamentaires, apocryphes. Le Coran relit ces documents, connus du monde proche-oriental dans lequel il est ne : loin de s’y reduire, il les adapte a sa propre vision theologique, en sorte qu’ici aussi, le rapport du texte a son contexte (externe) eclaire sur le sens. Ces analyses permettent une interpretation nuancee et souvent renouvelee, qui, de maniere inattendue, rejoint souvent celle des nouveaux penseurs de l’islam : leur revendication essentielle n’est-elle pas precisement une inter-pretation renouvelee du Coran, basee sur les acquis de la critique moderne ?
