C. F. Georg Heinrici, gestorben 1915 in Leipzig, war ein hervorragender Vertreter einer Theologie, die sich den Herausforderungen der Religionsgeschichtlichen Schule stellte, dabei aber eigene und divergierende Wege ging, so etwa in der Konzeption eines “Neuen Wettstein”. Als Wegbereiter einer Erforschung der Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Hellenismus und Christentum war er nicht zuletzt der eigentliche Initiator einer Untersuchung des antiken Vereinswesens in seiner Bedeutung fur die Struktur antiker christlicher Gemeinden. Die Beitrage dieses Bandes wurdigen die Facetten von Heinricis Werk, setzen seine Fragestellungen aber auch an vielen Beispielen angesichts der gegenwartigen Forschung im Spannungsfeld zwischen Theologie und Religionswissenschaft fort.
