Christiane Bohm untersucht in dieser Studie den Umgang mit den Psalmen in der Gemeinschaft von Qumran, bei Philo von Alexandrien und bei Paulus. 11QPsa, der Allegorische Kommentar Philos und die paulinischen Briefe bilden paradigmatische Textkorpora, die unterschiedliche Stromungen im antiken Judentum reprasentieren und jeweils ein spezifisches Verstandnis der Psalmen zu erkennen geben. Die Interpretation der Psalmen in Qumran, bei Philo und Paulus spiegelt einen innerjudischen Diskurs uber ihre wirklichkeitserschliessende und identitatsstiftende Funktion im Deutehorizont gruppenspezifischer Glaubenswelten. Alle drei untersuchten Textkorpora lassen eine unterschiedliche Sicht auf die Psalmen erkennen. Zudem wird ersichtlich, wie das, dem Psalter innewohnende, Sinnpotential jeweils voll ausgeschopft wird.
