The Tschalkanic language is used by the Calqandu or Kuu Kizi in the north of the Altai Republic (Central South Siberia). It is a non-standardized, non-written language. Up until now, the only monographic study of the language was written in Russian in 1985. This handbook examines Tschalkanic in a Western language for the first time. It also takes into account changes to the grammar of Tschalkanic which has altered a great deal during this short period of time, as is so often the case with endangered languages. This handbook is published in two volumes. German text.
English summary: The Tschalkanic language is used by the Calqandu or Kuu Kizi in the north of the Altai Republic (Central South Siberia).
