English summary: The use of paideuo in the Septuagint has traditionally been seen as a change in Jewish religious thinking, from a God who corrects (yasar) to one who educates (paideuo). Patrick Pouchelle, however, examines in this study the reasons Jewish translators would have chosen the Greek paideuo to translate the Hebrew yasar, offering a new interpretation of the question.
