Das Turkische, das zwischen dem 13. und dem 15. Jahrhundert in Anatolien gesprochen wurde, bezeichnet man alsAltosmanisch. In diese Zeit fallt auch die anonyme turkische Ubersetzung der Qisas al-Anbiya’ “Prophetengeschichten” aus dem arabischen Originaltext von Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Ibrahim Abu Ishak at-Ta’labi an-Nisaburi, die auf das 14. Jahrhundert datiert wird. Auf der Basis dieses umfangreichen Manuskripts wird hier erstmals die nominale Wortbildung des Altosmanischen umfassend analysiert. Dabei liegt das Hauptgewicht dieser Studie auf der morphologischen Wortbildung, d.h. der Bildung von neuen Lexemen durch die Anfugung von Suffixen; es werden insgesamt 34 Nominalsuffixe in Bezug auf ihre Funktion untersucht und nach ihrer denominalen und deverbalen Derivation systematisch geordnet. Daruber hinaus werden 20 Suffixe mit unklarer Semantik und acht lexikalisierte Flexionsformen aufgelistet. Nicht zuletzt bietet diese Arbeit auch interessante zeittypische Einzelinformationen uber bereits aus dem Altturkischen bekannte Suffixe.
