Ce Festschrift est offert au professeur Andre Wenin (Universite Catholique de Louvain) a l’occasion de son acces a l’emeritat. Narratologue inventif et fecond, ce dernier n’a cesse de scruter les recits bibliques dont la temporalite constitue la dimension cardinale. L’etude de cette temporalite inclut l’observation du rythme, lequel depend du rapport entre temps racontant et temps raconte. Or, ce rapport est affecte par l’usage de differents procedes narratifs, comme les lacunes, les prolepses et les analepses, qui constituent autant de possibilites de jouer avec la selection des faits racontes et avec leur chronologie dans la construction de l’intrigue. Plus specifiquement on peut distinguer, parmi les lacunes, le blanc, l’ellipse et l’omission liee a la creation de la tension narrative au moyen des fonctions thymiques (suspense, curiosite et surprise). C’est a decrire ces divers procedes, a les observer dans des recits et a discerner leurs effets sur le processus de lecture que les 28 contributions de ce volume sont consacrees.
