“The book as a whole offers some interesting andinnovative contributions. The book offers a view of what is going on in francophone narrative studies. It is interesting because it opens up the field of narrative studies to other synchronic methods, such as semiotics or rhetorical analysis. A great deal of attention has been paid to the role or the position of the reader with regard to the text.”
