English summary: This collection of studies from almost three centuries is a result of the efforts made to reorient research on the Priestly Code. This is an independent and highly unconventional work of literature which deals with subjects ranging from the creation to the death of Moses and culminating in the sanctuary at Sinai. It originated during the early postexilic era (around 520 BC) and leads right into the center of the current discussion surrounding the establishment of a location for a new beginning after the exile. German description: Die hier vorgelegte Sammlung von Studien ist aus dem Bemuhen um eine Neuorientierung der Forschung an jenem weithin abwertend beurteilten literarischen Werk der Priesterschrift erwachsen, das sich mehr und mehr als eigenstandige, dabei hochst eigenwillige literarische Komposition darstellt. In fruhnachexilischer Zeit (um 520 v.Chr.) entstanden und tiefgreifend gepragt von zeitgenossischer Diskussion um eine Standortbestimmung fur einen Neubeginn nach dem Exil, erweist sich die priesterschriftliche Geschichtsdarstellung als ein nicht priesterlich, sondern prophetisch inspirierter, ganz und gar unkultischer, geradezu utopischer Geschichtsentwurf. Dieser steckt einen weiten Rahmen von der Schopfung bis zum Tod des Mose ab und erreicht mit der Prasentation und Errichtung des Heiligtums vom Sinai seinen Hohe-, wenn auch nicht seinen Zielpunkt. In insgesamt neun umfangreichen Einzelstudien vermittelt Peter Weimar Einblicke in die literarische wie theologische Eigenart des priesterschriftlichen Werkes, erschliesst aber auch in detaillierten Analysen das Profil priesterschriftlicher Texte in ihrer Besonderheit, die in ihrer vollen Bedeutung aber erst dann in Blick kommen, wenn sie nicht bloss als Einzeltexte wahrgenommen werden, sondern in ihrem wechselseitigen Bezug miteinander gelesen werden. Im Zusammenspiel von Gesamtwerk und Einzeltext tritt die Priesterschrift als ein theologischer Entwurf von grosser Geschlossenheit und konzentrierter Gestaltungskraft in Erscheinung.
