Nach der Geschichte der deutschen Jesuiten seit der Wiedererrichtung des Ordens 1814 (2013) sowie der Schweizer Provinz (2017) und der Jesuiten in Schweden (2019) erscheint nun eine Geschichte der Osterreichischen Jesuitenprovinz von 1938 bis 1983. Es sind die Phasen der NS-Unterdruckung, dann des Wiederaufbaus und schliealich (seit 1965) der Krise und Erneuerung. Diese Zeiten des dramatischen und konfliktreichen Wandels werden vor allem aufgrund der ordensinternen Quellen ausfuhrlich dargestellt.
