Die Metaphysik des Johannes Buridan

Die vorliegende Untersuchung ist motiviert durch die das ethische Denken des Johannes Buridan bestimmenden Uberzeugung vom Primat der praktischen Vernunft oder Freiheit. Insofern der Pariser Magister in dieser Uberzeugung mit I. Kant ubereinstimmt, ergibt sich die Frage, inwieweit Buridan in seinem metaphysischen Denken eine gegenuber der traditionellen Auffassung vergleichbare Veranderung und Kritik vollzieht, wie Kant dies tut. Der Sache nach stellt sich das Problem, ob und inwieweit Buridan den Gedanken der Aprioritat des Wissens “entdeckt”. Im Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass die Metaphysik Buridans ihren Grund findet im Subjekt, insofern dieses Subjekt Ichbewusstsein des Menschen und als solches Individuum ist. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Ergebnisses findet die neuzeitliche Transformation der Metaphysik ihren Sinn in der Anerkennung der menschlichen Vernunft als Terminus der Reflexion.
