Who was Saint Kolluthos, the famous medical practitioner of Late Antique Egypt, who answered the many oracular questions that came to light during the archaeological excavations of Arsinoe? This volume provides a new edition of the known Coptic literary texts, which so far have never been collected and published as a whole. Based on this corpus of texts, the study explores the life of this Egyptian saint, his unusual way of life and professional career, his martyrdom, and finally the perceived miraculous healing power of his bones. Each text is complemented by an introduction to its specific literary genre.
