English summary: The ten essays by Horst Dreier contained in this volume, and dating from between 2000 and 2014, explore the distinctive character of German constitutional law as revealed both in the Weimar democracy and the Nazi dictatorial regime. By deconstructing superficial time-bound narratives drawn from the constitutional history of the two orders, a complex, multifaceted, and finely nuanced picture of practice and scholarship emerges. The author’s aim is thereby to provoke renewed thought on received interpretations and provide reason for a revised understanding of 20th century German constitutionalism. Das wirft ein neues Licht auf die Frage von Kontinuitaten und Diskontinuitaten im deutschen Verfassungsdenken des 20. Jahrhunderts.
