The study of Middle Indian languages is vital for the understanding of Buddhism, Jainism and numerous works of Indian literature. Das Studium der mittelindischen Sprachen ist unerlasslich fur das Verstandnis des Buddhismus, des Jinismus und zahlreicher indischer Literaturwerke. Bisher sind die mittelindischen Sprachen jedoch nicht zuletzt in Bezug auf die Didaktik sehr vernachlassigt worden. Um den Bestand wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens zu sichern, muss das von der Forschung erarbeitete Wissen stets qualifiziert an die nachfolgende Generation weitergegeben werden. Klaus Mylius stellt mit seinem neuen Band in kompakter Form Erfahrungen vor, die er im Laufe von vier Jahrzehnten bei der Ausbildung mehrerer Generationen von Studierenden gewonnen hat.
