Wachstumsgesetz oder Kurzungstendenz?
Gedachtnispsychologische Erkenntnisse zu den inhaltlichen Uberhangen in den synoptischen Paralleltraditionen

Die Untersuchung widmet sich der Fragestellung, wie es dazu gekommen ist, dass Erzahlungen des synoptischen Parallelstoffs aufgrund von zusatzlichen Textinformationen, sogenannten inhaltlichen sberhangen, unterschiedlich ausfuhrlich sind. Im Rahmen eines interdisziplinaren Ansatzes zieht diese Untersuchung Erkenntnisse aus der experimentellen Gedachtnispsychologie heran, die zeigen, dass Erzahlungen in auswendigen Reproduktionen in aller Regel nicht anwachsen, sondern durch das Auslassen von nebensachlichen Textinformationen gekurzt werden. Als nebensachliche Textinformationen identifizierten die experimentellen Untersuchungen u.a. Angaben zum Ort, zur Zeit, zu den Personen, zu den Objekten und zu einem Ereignis oder Geschehen in Form von adverbialen Bestimmungen. Vergleicht man die inhaltlichen sberhange der synoptischen Parallelperikopen mit den in auswendigen Reproduktionen ausgelassenen nebensachlichen Textinformationen, dann ergibt sich, dass 90% der inhaltlichen sberhange aus gedachtnispsychologischer Perspektive durch Kurzungen in einer vom menschlichen Gedachtnis getragenen sberlieferung erklart werden konnen. Daher ist fur die Geschichte der synoptischen Jesusuberlieferung eine Kurzungstendenz viel wahrscheinlicher als ein Wachstumsprozess oder gar die Wirksamkeit eines Wachstumsgesetzes.
