In diesem Rahmen widmet sich der Band weiblichen und queeren Stimmen in der Prophetie der Bibel und des Alten Orients und geht der relevanten Ikonographie nach. Er erhellt den historischen Hintergrund, untersucht die Rollen biblischer Frauenfiguren in den Erzahlungen der Vorderen Prophetie und thematisiert politischen und religiosen Widerstand durch Frauen. Mehrere Beitrage behandeln Geschlechtersymbolik und Genderkonstruktionen in prophetischen Texten sowie der metaphorischen Gottesrede.
