Das Mittelhochdeutsche Worterbuch (MWB) ist eines der drei grossen Epochenworterbucher zum alteren Deutsch. Es erschliesst den Wortschatz der zwischen 1050 und 1350 entstandenen mittelhochdeutschen Texte. Das MWB deckt das gesamte zeitliche, raumliche und textsortenspezifische Spektrum der Quellen ab und ermoglicht dadurch einen ausgewogenen Uberblick uber die Verwendungsbedingungen und die Bedeutungsentwicklung des mittelhochdeutschen Wortbestandes. Die Belege werden in der Regel nach den fur die moderne Forschung relevanten Ausgaben geboten. Band 2 (2021) enthalt ein umfassendes Quellen- und Literaturverzeichnis, das in den jahrlich erscheinenden Lieferungen von Band 3 erganzt wird. Jeder Lieferung liegt eine CD-ROM mit dem gesamten bereits erschienenen Worterbuchteil bei, die ausser einer PDF-basierten Volltextsuche auch verschiedene interne und externe Verknupfungen bietet. Die lemmabezogene Verlinkung mit der Online-Publikation des MWB ermoglicht den Zugriff auf erganzende Worterbuchmaterialien, Volltexte sowie die mittelhochdeutschen Vorgangerworterbucher im Internet.
