Mitgenossin des selbstandigen Wesens Christi
Texte und Briefe aus Quedlinburg. Herausgegeben von Ruth Albrecht und Katja Lissmann
by Anna Catharina Scharschmidt
A strikingly large number of women were involved in the Pietist movement around 1700, including the theological writer Anna Catharina Scharschmidt from Quedlinburg (1646-1730). The focus of the present edition is her work Einfaltiges Zeugniss Von dem Wahren Dienste des Geistes im Neuen Bunde from 1703, in which the author develops an independent view of the Christian faith as a spiritual attitude characterized by love, based on the New Testament.
