Was verhandelt philosophisches Denken, wenn es von Licht und Dunkel spricht? Ausgangspunkt der Studie ist, dass es sich dabei nicht um Metaphern, sondern um genuin philosophische Denkfiguren handelt, die ein Denkpotenzial enthalten, das philosophisches Denken seiner Struktur und Dynamik nach wesentlich mitbestimmt. Anhand von systematischen Uberlegungen, in denen Licht und Dunkel als Denkfiguren fur Affirmativitat und Negativitat bestimmt werden, und von Lekturen philosophischer Grundungakte auf diese Denkfiguren hin, bei Platon und Descartes, vollzieht Benno Wirz eine Besinnung auf das der Philosophie eigene Denken. Dabei sieht er dieses an der Differenz von Licht und Dunkel orientierte Denken immer schon eingespannt in das unhintergehbare Spannungsverhaltnis von Affirmativitat und Negativitat.
