Les Anales des pretres de Karnak comptent plus de quatrevingt textes qui enregistrent la date et les circonstances de l”introduction” (bs) d’un “prophete” ou d’un vizir dans le secteur reserve du temple d’Amon. Ces inscriptions fournissent donc une foule d’informations sur le clerge d’Amon et le vizirat thebain du debut de la IIIe Periode Intermediaire. Elles permettent de mieux comprendre les roles respectifs du pretre egyptien et de son temple. “Introduit” dans la partie reservee du sanctuaire, assimilee en raison de son inaccessibilite au “ciel” des dieux, le “prophete” est cense connaitre, par cette “emergence” (bs.t) dans le monde superieur, une illumination et une transmutation. A Karnak, tout donne a penser que l'”introduction” des nouveaux prophetes s’effectuait par leur entree dans l’Akhmenou, expressement qualifie par nos sources d’ “horizon du ciel”, la revelation culminant avec la decouverte de la statue “secrete” d’Amon.
