Heilige Schriften in der Kritik
XVII. Europaischer Kongress fur Theologie (5.-8. September 2021 in Zurich)
edited by Konrad Schmid
English summary: What is the state of historical biblical criticism within theology and the churches? Is it possible to capture and describe empirically to what extent historical-critical approaches to the Bible have found expression in the religious and theological practices of Christianity? Which religious cultures and behaviors result from critical or non-critical perceptions of sacred writings? What opportunities are there for a more historically informed religious and ecclesiastical practice? Does it open up possibilities for comprehensively incorporating an enlightened approach to sacred writings in Christianity, and also in Judaism and Islam? These and other questions were addressed by the XVII European Congress of Theology, which took place in Zurich from September 5 to 8, 2021. Contributions to the congress are documented in this volume.
