Diskurse der Nachhaltigkeit
Sprachliche Perspektiven auf Ökologie und Gesellschaft
Edited by Beatrice Wilke Edited by Joanna Szczęk Edited by Mariusz Jakosz
How are ecological issues linguistically shaped and communicated across different discursive domains—from academia and the media to advertising and culture? How are complex concepts such as climate change, social justice, or sustainable development structured cognitively and linguistically? This anthology offers a well-founded and interdisciplinary analysis of the linguistic construction of sustainability in current social debates. It analyzes both metaphorical models and processes of conceptual integration, demonstrating how meaning emerges in the domain of sustainability. This is complemented by lexical, corpus-based, and discourse-linguistic studies that shed light on current developments in German and Polish. The volume combines theoretical approaches from cognitive linguistics with empirical analyses, thereby offering new insights into the role of language in shaping ecological reality.
