English summary: Karl Barth’s thought was received with great interest not only by Protestants but also by Catholic theologians, who analyzed it in detail. In this study, Benjamin Dahlke outlines how and why this happened in the period prior to Vatican II. He shows that the preoccupation with the eEpistle to the Romans’ and ‘Church Dogmatics’ triggered a theological renewal. In addition to Hans Urs von Balthasar’s critical appropriation of Barth’s thought, the author also focuses on the debate over the issue of analogia entis, which was linked to Erich Przywara. Er zeigt, dass die Beschaftigung mit dem Romerbrief und der Kirchlichen Dogmatik ein Anstoss zur theologischen Erneuerung war, also im Kontext der allmahlichen Auf- und Ablosung der Neuscholastik zu verstehen ist. Thematisiert werden beispielsweise Hans Urs von Balthasars kritische Aneignung von Barths Denken und die mit Erich Przywara verknupfte Debatte um die analogia entis. Damit soll ferner ein Beitrag zur Biographie Karl Barths geleistet werden. Barth unterhielt namlich vielfaltige, teils sogar freundschaftliche Kontakte zu Katholiken, die fur die Genese seines Denkens wichtig sind.Furdieses Werk erhielt Benjamin Dahlke den von derAkademie der Wissenschaften zu Gottingen verliehenenHanns-Lilje-Preis 2010.
