Das Verstandnis der doxa im Johannesevangelium

English summary: What caused the Fourth Evangelist to write about Jesus’ passion as his glorification? And how can this very special use of doxazein be related to those texts where doxa seems to denote nothing more than honor? Nicole Chibici-Revneanu seeks to answer these and other questions concerning the most significant use of doxa and doxazein in the Gospel of John and to explore this terminology’s contribution to Johannine theology. Set in the context of their Jewish-Christian understanding, the Fourth Evangelist obviously used doxa and doxazein to establish a Christological network throughout his Gospel in order to enhance and specify the terminology’s semantic content. The ultimate purpose of this procedure seems to have been an apologetic of Jesus’ death, addressed to those who viewed it as the shameful downfall of an impostor. They are countered by a theologically rich presentation of Jesus’ death as his true and honorable revelation as the One who was sent by God. German description: Mit der Begrifflichkeit von doxa und doxazein kann der vierte Evangelist so Unterschiedliches bezeichnen wie menschliche Ehre, die gottliche Offenbarungsherrlichkeit des AT und die Passion Jesu. Er beschreibt, wie Jesus auf Erden Herrlichkeit offenbart hat, obwohl er zu dieser Zeit noch nicht verherrlicht war und, wie einige Stellen nahe legen, doxa erst nach seinem Fortgang aus der Welt beim Vater erlangt hat. Solche und weitere Ungereimtheiten semantischer und zeitlich-logischer Art haben etliche Exegeten dazu gefuhrt, dem Johannesevangelium ein einheitliches doxa-Verstandnis abzusprechen. Nicole Chibici-Revneanu unternimmt den Versuch, die johanneische Verwendung von doxa und doxazein gerade in ihrer Vieldeutigkeit und Vielschichtigkeit exegetisch zu wurdigen und zu erhellen. Vor dem Hintergrund judisch-christlicher Begriffsverwendung treten die Charakteristika der johanneischen doxa-Konzeption besonders deutlich hervor: Augenscheinlich bedient sich der Evangelist dieser Terminologie, um verschiedene theologische Horizonte seines Evangeliums zueinander in Beziehung zu setzen und so die als Verherrlichung verstandene Passion Jesu in seinen Gesamtentwurf zu integrieren und zu deuten. Dies geschieht nicht zuletzt in der Absicht, denjenigen, die in Jesu schmachvollem Tod die Unrechtmassigkeit seines Anspruches besiegelt sehen, entgegenzuhalten, dass sich in der Passion tatsachlich eine Offenbarung Gottes ereignet hat, die Jesus – auch gegenuber seinen Gegnern – bleibend ins Recht gesetzt hat.
