English summary:Tomb N13.1 which stands on high ground in the western rock necropolis of Asyut in Middle Egypt was built for the local ruler Iti-ibi (-iqer) during the 11th Dynasty, in the period around 2000 BC. Its well-preserved original adornment, as well as the numerous secondary texts and drawings left on the walls by visitors to the tomb during the New Kingdom and the Islamic period, provide a rich source of information on various aspects relating to the history and function of the limestone massif of Gebel Assiut al-gharbi. After its discovery by the long-term German-Egyptian “Asyut Project” in 2005, the heavily buried grave and its three deep shafts were uncovered gradually. All of the 900 vessel closures made of Nile clay (as well as a single limestone closure) which were found here are described in detail by Michael van Elsbergen in this volume and their relevance examined. Even if the heavily disturbed nature of the discoveries and missing inscriptions do not allow for precise dating, the distribution of the findings, their sizes and forms – as well as comparative material from the 1st interim period up until the 13th Dynasty and from later epochs of the Byzantine period – all provide clues as to their temporal classification and possible functional contexts. German description: Das hoch gelegene Grab N13.1 in der westlichen Felsnekropole von Assiut/Mittelagypten wurde fur Iti-ibi(-iqer), einen Gaufursten der 11. Dynastie, in der Zeit um 2000 v.Chr. angelegt. Seine gut erhaltene Originaldekoration sowie die zahlreichen sekundaren Texte und Zeichnungen, die im Neuen Reich und in islamischer Zeit von Besuchern des Grabes an den Wanden hinterlassen wurden, sind eine reichhaltige Informationsquelle fur unterschiedliche Aspekte der Geschichte und Funktion des Kalksteinmassivs Gebel Assiut al-gharbi. Nach der Entdeckung des Grabes durch das deutsch-agyptische Langfristvorhaben “The Asyut Project” im Jahre 2005 wurden das stark verschuttete Grab und seine drei tiefen Schachte nach und nach freigelegt. Alle 900 dabei aufgefundenen Gefassverschlusse aus Nilton (sowie ein Verschluss aus Kalkstein) werden im vorliegenden Band von Michael van Elsbergen umfassend dokumentiert und auf ihre Aussagekraft hin befragt. Auch wenn die stark gestorte Befundsituation sowie fehlende Aufschriften keine genaue Datierung zulassen, liefern jedoch die Fundverteilung, die Grossen und Formen sowie das herangezogene Vergleichsmaterial aus der 1. Zwischenzeit bis zur 13. Dynastie und aus spateren Epochen bis in die byzantinische Zeit hinein Anhaltspunkte fur die zeitliche Einordnung und mogliche Funktionszusammenhange.
