The narrative that Christology reflects upon is divided, following the model of Barth’s doctrine of reconciliation (CD IV) so fundamental for Jungel, into two relational movements and their unity, so that the story of Jesus Christ becomes evident as the story of God as well as of the man corresponding to God, and so that Christology emerges as a hermeneutics of the narratively mediated unity of both. In various moves, the author thus always begins with Jungel’s central christological category: the self-identification of God with the crucified Jesus. He first presents it as a “post-metaphysical” equivalent to the doctrine of the two natures and as a foundational ground of trinitarian theology, traces its occurrence in the cross and the resurrection, and sketches its implications for the doctrine of justification as well as for the human Jesus himself. Jesus’ story is read as one qualified by God’s act of identification with him in such a way that Jesus becomes the mediating link in a structure of analogy between God and humankind that extends to the christological grounding of anthropology. The specific relationality of this man’s being – historically accessible by approximation through his insistence on the Basileia of God – becomes a paradigmatic case of holistic human existence and thus of existential ontology. Subsequently, from identification as linguistic event, the christological grounding of Jungel’s language hermeneutics and pneumatology becomes evident. Language event, metaphor, analogy, and narrative itself prove to be christologically grounded and, in a pneumatological-narrative manner, effect the present being of Jesus Christ even today, making clear that in Christology, language and being, hermeneutics and material dogmatics, correspond to one another. Die Erzahlung, der die Christologie nachdenkt, wird nach dem Vorbild der fur Jungel fundamentalen Versohnungslehre Barths (KD IV) in zwei relationale Bewegungen und ihre Einheit unterteilt, sodass die Geschichte Jesu Christi als Geschichte Gottes wie des Gott entsprechenden Menschen und die Christologie als Sprachhermeneutik der sich narrativ vermittelnden Einheit beider zu stehen kommt. Der Autor hebt dabei in unterschiedlicher Perspektive mit der christologischen Zentralkategorie Jungels, der Selbstidentifikation Gottes mit dem Gekreuzigten, an. Zunachst macht er sie als ‘nachmetaphysisches’ Aquivalent der Zwei-Naturen-Lehre und Begrundungsfigur der Trinitatslehre vorstellig, geht ihrem Sich-Ereignen in Kreuz und Auferweckung nach und skizziert ihre rechtfertigungstheologischen Implikationen sowie ihre Bedeutung fur den Menschen Jesus selbst. Dessen Geschichte wird als eine von Gottes Identifikation mit ihm in besonderer Weise qualifizierte gelesen, sodass Jesus das Mittelglied eines Analogiegefuges zwischen Gott und Mensch bildet, das bis zur christologischen Begrundung der Anthropologie reicht. Die spezifische Relationalitat des Seins dieses Menschen, aus seinem Insistieren auf die Basileia Gottes naherungsweise historisch erkennbar, wird zum paradigmatischen Fall ganzheitlichen Menschseins und so zur Grundlage einer Existenzialontologie. Anschliessend wird vom Identifikationsgeschehen als Sprachereignis aus die christologische Grundierung noch der Sprachhermeneutik und Pneumatologie Jungels einsichtig. Sprachereignis, Metapher, Analogie und Erzahlung selbst erweisen sich als christologisch begrundet und ereignen pneumatologisch-narrativ auch heute noch das Sein Jesu Christi, sodass klar wird: In der Christologie entsprechen sich Sprache und Sache, Hermeneutik und materiale Dogmatik. Dabei an die Oberflache tretende Probleme dieser christologischen Logik, die die Sprache zu uberformen droht, werden bearbeitet, indem Jungels Ansatz konsequent erzahltheoretisch weitergedacht und konstruktiv-kritisch interpretiert wird: Jesus Christus nicht ‘nur’ als Sprach-, sondern grundlegend als Erzahlereignis.
