Die 1661 anonym erscheinende Schrift des anglikanischen Bischofs George Rust ist ein Manifest des neuzeitlichen Origenismus: In kritischer Auseinandersetzung mit den neuen Philosophien eines Hobbes oder Descartes einerseits und der calvinistischen Theologie andererseits schreibt der Autor darin auf originelle Weise grundlegende Einsichten des Origenes fort.
