At the center of this work is the question of the relationship between the healing by Jesus and the faith of the sick person. This question is posed to the textual interpretations of the pericope of the Canaanite woman (Mt 15, 21-28) by the Syriac Church Fathers Aphrahat, Ephraem the Syrian and Jacob of Sarug. In order to provide a detailed answer, the homilies of the Syriac Church Fathers were subjected to a multifaceted historical-philological analysis for the first time.
