Beitrage zur Buch- und Bibliotheksgeschichte Mitteldeutschlands im 16. Jahrhundert

Unbestritten gilt der Buchdruck zumindest im ersten Jahrzehnt der Reformation als entscheidender Faktor fur die Ausbreitung der evangelischen Botschaft. Erst der Buchdruck ermoglichte den Erfolg Luthers und seiner Mitstreiter. Durch die religiose Auseinandersetzung wurde das Buch als Vehikel des Glaubenskampfes symbolisch aufgeladen. Fur die Reformatoren symbolisierten die Bucher den sakularen und theologisch-religiosen Fortschritt der evangelischen Bewegung. Der vorliegende Sammelband thematisiert die Bedeutung des Buches im 16. Jahrhundert aus theologiegeschichtlicher und kulturhistorischer Perspektive und bietet Einzeluntersuchungen zur Buch- und Bibliotheksgeschichte in den mitteldeutschen Territorien des Heiligen Romischen Reiches Deutscher Nation. Die einzelnen Beitrage gehen auf Vortrage der Fachtagung “Buch und Reformation” zuruck, die vom 6. bis zum 8. Mai 2011 im Cranach-Haus in Wittenberg stattfand.
