Briefkultur der Reformationszeit
edited by Johannes Schilling
The Reformation period marks also a peak of epistolary culture. Authors schooled in humanism enter into correspondence with each other, discuss theological and political problems, instruct each other on matters of daily life, and profess enmity and friendship towards each other. Erasmus and Johannes Reuchlin, Christoph Scheurl and Martin Luther, Philipp Melanchthon and Matthias Flacius are in correspondence, in Latin and Greek and, when it matters, also in German.
