The commentary by Cyrill of Alexandria (d. 444) on 2 Corinthians has never been the subject of a scientific investigation. The fragmented work, which originally consisted of several books, is published completely and critically and translated into a modern language here for the first time. In addition, the study presents a comprehensive insight into the entireboth Greek and Syriactradition of the commentary and deals in detail with the question of the time of its writing, its linguistic profile, and its original structure and scope.
