In dieser Studie liegt das Augenmerk auf den Folgen der Industrialisierung im Königreich Württemberg in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Im Mittelpunkt stehen evangelische Pfarrer im Dienst der Landeskirche, die sich mit den Auswirkungen der Sozialen Frage in ihren Gemeinden konfrontiert sahen.
Die Untersuchung nimmt insbesondere die Regionen um die Oberamtsstädte Heilbronn und Geislingen/Steige in den Blick, wo aufstrebende industrialisierte Unternehmen und die damit verbundenen Folgen für die Pfarrer zur Herausforderung wurden. Das Zusammenleben in den Gemeinden wandelte sich, was die Menschen vor Ort deutlich wahrnahmen. Durch ganz unterschiedliches Reagieren auf die Veränderungen wurden mitunter mittel- und langfristig neue Angebote vor Ort geschaffen.

Pastors in Württemberg Parishes]
This study focuses on the consequences of industrialisation in the Kingdom of Württemberg in the second half of the 19th century. It centres on Protestant pastors in the service of the regional church who were confronted with the effects of the social question in their communities.
The study focuses in particular on the regions around the district towns of Heilbronn and Geislingen/Steige, where emerging industrialised companies and the associated consequences for the pastors became a challenge. Life in the communities changed, which was clearly noticed by the local people. Reactions to the changes varied greatly, and in some cases new local services were created in the medium and long term.
