Communication plays an important role in creating and maintaining human relationships. It also keeps society together by addressing the challenges and problems facing it. The church equally lives through communication. Using Nigeria as a model, this dissertation tries to look into different means and methods of communication and how they are useful instruments in maintaining a better society. Traditional methods of communication are very much valued by people who use them, but the media tries to bring in new values to already existing methods of communication. Despite conflicting interests that came up, this dissertation underlines the invaluable role the media can play in the community as well as in the church, in the development of individual persons and of the society at large. This work focused its attention on the situation in Nigeria. Attention was equally directed to examine how best the media will help the church in its contribution to make life better for the people in Nigeria.
