Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Themenfeldes tragt dieser Band zur Profilierung der kunftigen Forschung zu Voraussetzungen, Theorie und Praxis des islamischen Religionsunterrichts als ordentliches Unterrichtsfach an offentlichen Schulen bei. Er greift gesellschaftliche Diskurse zur Rolle von Religion an offentlichen Schulen auf und untersucht Handlungsfelder religionspadagogischen Handelns am Lernort Schule und bringt sich so in die Diskussion uber die Verortung von Religionen im Rahmen des Religionsunterrichts in der bundesdeutschen Schullandschaft ein.
