Cette recherche collaborative offre des approches croisées sur les processus de transfert interculturels et intertextuels depuis la Perse, la Syrie byzantine, le Caucase, l’Égypte, la péninsule italique jusqu’aux îles britanniques, sur la longue durée, du IVe au XVe siècle. Dans le contexte multilingue et multiculturel de ces sociétés, les nombreuses communautés qui se sont côtoyées se sont enrichies sans interruption de matériaux littéraires, lexicographiques, scientifiques ou conceptuels largement re-formateurs, et ce en dépit de bouleversements géo-politiques majeurs. Les études ici réunies constituent autant de cas exemplaires, mis en dialogue, de l’impact de ces échanges transorientaux et vers l’Occident; elles contribuent à éclairer les modalités de construction d’une culture mixte, mais aussi la réception et les réappropriations ayant conduit au façonnement d’un héritage partagé.
