Mit Objektinventaren, Sammlungskatalogen und anderen Objektlisten lasst sich Besitztum rekonstruieren, die Zirkulation von Gegenstanden und Objektwissen nachverfolgen und Konsumverhalten studieren. Entsprechend wecken solche Aufzahlungen ein grosses Interesse in den Bereichen Handels-, Materialitats- und Provenienzforschung.
