This book can be said to present – next to The Constitution of Liberty – the most comprehensive treatment of Friedrich A. Hayek’ wide ranging theoretical contributions. It covers Hayek’s general social and legal philosophy of the foundations of social order, his theory of spontaneous order and of cultural evolution, his political economy of the market order, as well as his political philosophy of the institutional foundations of a free society and his analysis of contemporary democracy. Law, Legislation and Liberty was published originally in English in three separate volumes in 1973, 1976 and 1979. It is presented here in a new German translation by Monika Streissler in one volume.
Dieser Band der Gesammelten Schriften von Friedrich A. von Hayek kann – neben der Verfassung der Freiheit – als das zweite Hauptwerk des bedeutenden Okonomen und Sozialphilosophen gelten. Es ist die Einzelveroffentlichung, die den besten Uberblick uber sein gesamtes theoretisches Werk bietet. Sie umfasst Hayeks allgemein sozial- und rechtsphilosophische Uberlegungen zu den Grundlagen sozialer Ordnung, seine Theorie der spontanen Ordnung und der kulturellen Evolution, seine politische Okonomie der Ordnung des Marktes und seine Diagnose der Gefahrdungen dieser Ordnung, ebenso wie seine politische Philosophie der institutionellen Grundlagen einer freien Gesellschaft und seine Analyse zeitgenossischer Demokratie. Das Werk erschien in drei Banden auf Englisch 1973, 1976 und 1979, eine deutsche Ubersetzung erschien ebenfalls in drei Banden 1980 und 1981. Fur diese einbandige Ausgabe wurde es von Monika Streissler neu ins Deutsche ubersetzt.
