In den Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften wird aktuell vielerorts ein “affective turn” ausgerufen. Einsatz, Gestaltung und literarische Funktion von Affekten und Emotionen erfahren auch in der neutestamentlichen Bibelwissenschaft verstarkt Aufmerksamkeit. Der Band beleuchtet unterschiedliche Aspekte dieses Forschungsfeldes. Die Rolle von Affekten und Emotionen im Kontext der Figurencharakterisierung kommt dabei ebenso zur Sprache wie ihr Einsatz als Medium brieflicher Argumentation, das Verhaltnis von Emotionen und Ethik sowie das Thema der Affektkontrolle.
