Die Beitrage dieses Bandes befassen sich mit den Problemen, die sich aus der Dynamik des europaischen Integrationsprozesses fur die einzelnen Mitgliedsstaaten ergeben. Obgleich jede Erweiterung von diesen immer auch als eine Art Bedrohung empfunden wurde, so erwiesen sich die damit verbundenen Modernisierungsimpulse uberwiegend als vorteilhaft fur die beteiligten Nationalokonomien. In der Analyse offenbart sich die “europaische Rettung des Nationalstaates”, indem sie das Streben desselben im Kontext der europaischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft darstellt.
