English summary: The Acts of the Apostles is the second part of the Gospel of Luke and, as such, wants to be read with the same expectations as the prologue Lk 1,1-4: Here, an educated member of a contemporary movement writes for an equally educated interested audience. It is about the history of God with Israel, which has entered its crucial phase with Jesus of Nazareth, and the resulting Jesus movement and its expansion. The text is intended to appeal to readers on an existential level, just as ground-breaking as the sermons were on which it reports. This is no historiography covering everything in terms of time and space, but the author clearly wants to go beyond mere hearsay and provide reliable information. German description: Die Apostelgeschichte ist der zweite Teil des Lukanischen Werkes und will darum mit den gleichen Erwartungen gelesen werden, die schon der Prolog Lk 1,1-4 weckt: Hier schreibt ein gebildetes Mitglied einer zeitgenossischen Bewegung fur ein ebenfalls gebildetes interessiertes Publikum. Es geht um die Geschichte Gottes mit Israel, die mit Jesus von Nazareth in eine kritische Phase geraten ist, und um die damit entstandene Jesusbewegung und deren Ausbreitung. Der Stoff soll die Lesenden ebenso existenziell ansprechen wie die ersten Horer und Horerinnen der berichteten Missionsreden. Eine zeitlich und raumlich flachendeckende Geschichtsschreibung liegt nicht vor, aber der Autor will uber ein blosses Horensagen hinausfuhren und verlassliche Auskunft geben.
